Affordable
Homes for
Affordable Homes for Vets is our flagship program: small, sensible, single-level homes on land we develop, priced so that a veteran can buy with the VA loan they earned or rent with their VASH voucher, then own the place outright with our help.
How one home comes together
From blueprints to
Design & build
We develop land and build small, efficient, single-level homes designed for the Arizona desert: low maintenance, low utility bills, and a price that stays inside a VA loan. Basic on purpose, so the cost goes to the home, not the frills.
Buy or rent, day one
A veteran moves in either by purchasing with their VA loan or by renting with their HUD-VASH voucher. No waiting years for both stars to align. If you qualify for one of the two, a door opens now.
Rent now, own later
For veterans who rent, the nonprofit works to help them financially purchase the home they live in. The same house, the same street, the same neighbors. What changes is whose name is on the deed.
The build philosophy
Basic on
"Basic" is not a compromise, it is the strategy. Every square foot we do not build and every finish we skip is money that stays in a veteran's budget. These are the principles on every plan.
- Single-level plans with no wasted square footage
- Efficient layouts that keep utility bills low
- Low-maintenance, desert-appropriate landscaping
- Durable materials chosen for the Arizona sun
- Priced so the home appraises inside a VA loan
- Built by local crews and, when possible, volunteers

Questions
Can a veteran really buy a home with a VA loan on a modest income? +
Yes, when the price is right. The VA loan lets eligible veterans buy with no down payment in many cases, and the gatekeeper is what the monthly payment has to be. Building below $180,000 is how we keep that payment inside a veteran's budget instead of outside it.
What is a VASH voucher? +
HUD-VASH combines a HUD housing voucher with VA case management and clinical services. It is one of the main federal programs that helps veterans experiencing homelessness get into stable housing. Our rental path is built around a home a voucher can actually cover.
How does renting turn into owning? +
The nonprofit holds the home so a veteran can move in with a VASH voucher, then works to help them purchase it over time. Rent paid becomes a track record, and we help connect the veteran to the financing and support that turn them from tenant to owner.
Where will these homes be built? +
In and around the Phoenix and Gilbert, Arizona area, where the founders live, work, and know the land, the trades, and the veterans. We announce specific communities as land is secured, so follow along to be first in line.
Are donations tax-deductible? +
Dream Seeker Homes Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Gifts are processed securely by our donation partner, and you are welcome to ask us directly how your gift will be used.
